The Ravenhood Hoodie
Try it worry-free. If you're not happy, return it within 30 days for a full refund.
Does the hood actually close over your face?
Yes. It is a two-way zip, so you run the lower pull up past your chin and the hood closes into a proper balaclava across your nose and mouth with an eye slot. There is embroidery on the face panel too, so it still looks finished when it is shut. Unzip halfway and it is a normal high collar. Unzip fully and it is a normal hoodie.
Embroidered or printed?
Embroidered. Every snake, leaf, rose, moth and raven is satin stitch in real thread, front, back, sleeves and hood. It is the whole reason this costs what it does. A print sits on top of the fabric and starts cracking after a few washes. Thread is part of the garment and goes dull at the same rate as everything around it.
How does it fit?
Oversized and unisex, cut boxy with dropped shoulders and long sleeves. Take your normal size for the oversized look everyone buys it for, or size down one for something closer to regular. It is the same garment for everyone, not a men's cut and a women's cut.
What are the four designs?
Serpent & Ivy is silver snakes and emerald ivy with a celtic knot hem. Skull & Rose is silver skulls and deep red roses with a baroque hem. Moth & Foxglove is death's-head moths and violet foxglove with a triple moon. Raven & Thorn is ravens over a full moon with midnight blue roses. Same hoodie, same balaclava hood, four different pieces of artwork.

What people actually say

Thread, not a print
Hold a printed hoodie up to the light and the graphic is a flat film sitting on the cotton. Three washes in it cracks across the folds, and after a winter it looks cheap because it was. Every motif on this one is satin stitch in real thread, worked into the fleece across the chest, down both sleeves, over the back and onto the hood panel. You can feel the relief under your thumb. It does not crack, it does not peel, and it goes dull at exactly the same rate as the fabric it sits in.

Zip it up and disappear
The two-way zip is the point. Run the bottom pull up past your chin and the hood closes over your nose and mouth into a real balaclava, eye slot and all, with the embroidery carrying across the face panel so it still reads as finished rather than improvised. Halfway down it is a high collar that sits over your throat on a cold platform. All the way down it is just a heavy oversized hoodie. Three garments, one zip, and nobody has to know which one you are wearing today.

Questions
Does the hood really close over your face?
Yes, properly. The zip is two-way, so you pull the lower slider up past your chin and the hood closes across your nose and mouth with an eye slot, like a balaclava. The face panel is embroidered as well, so zipped up it still looks designed rather than like you have pulled a hoodie over your head. Pull it halfway down for a high collar, all the way down for a normal hoodie.
Is the artwork embroidered or printed?
Embroidered. Satin stitch in real thread across the chest, down both sleeves, over the back and onto the hood panel. You can feel the relief with your thumb. This is the single biggest difference between this and the printed hoodies that look identical in a video and arrive feeling like a t-shirt with a sticker on it.
How heavy is the fabric?
450 gsm brushed fleece. For reference, a standard high-street zip hoodie is usually 280 to 320 gsm. Most people wear this through winter without a coat over the top, which is part of why it ends up being the only thing they wear.
What size should I get?
It is cut oversized and unisex. Take your normal size for the boxy oversized look that people buy it for, or size down one if you want something closer to a regular fit. Dropped shoulders and long sleeves are intentional. 92% of people take their normal size and keep it.
Will the embroidery crack or peel?
No, because there is nothing to crack. Cracking is what happens to a printed film sitting on top of fabric when it flexes. Thread is worked into the fabric, so it moves with it. Wash it inside out on cold and it will fade at the same rate as the fleece around it rather than falling apart before it.
Can I just wear it as a normal hoodie?
Yes, and most people do most of the time. Hood down and unzipped it reads as a heavy embroidered zip-up and nothing else. The balaclava is there when you want it, not something you are stuck with.
Is it warm enough for winter?
For most of it, yes. 450 gsm brushed fleece with a full-face hood is warmer than a lot of thin jackets. It is not waterproof and it is not a parka, so in real rain or proper cold you will still want a shell over it.
How do I wash it?
Inside out, cold, gentle cycle, and hang it to dry. Do not tumble dry it and do not iron over the embroidery. Turning it inside out is the one that actually matters: it stops the stitching rubbing against the drum.
Is it unisex?
Yes. One cut, one size run, worn by everyone. The photography shows it on different people because it genuinely is the same garment, not a men's version and a women's version.
How long does shipping take?
Around 7 days on average, and it is free. You get a tracking link as soon as it leaves the warehouse.
What if it does not fit?
You have 30 days. Message us and we will swap the size or refund you. Sizing is the thing people most often get wrong on an oversized cut, so we would rather you exchanged it than kept something that does not sit right.
Why it keeps selling out
Real thread front, back, sleeves and hood. It will not crack.
Open hoodie, high collar, or zipped to the eyes.
Wrong size on an oversized cut is normal. Swap it, no argument.
